My School Portfolio

This last year at NAIT’s Photographic Technology program has been excellent. I have learned so much from my instructors about how to become a better photographer and the tools to create my own business, but they have also taught me how to be more confident in my abilities and style of photography.

Over this last semester, from January to April, I had an assignment where we had to take 12 photos from 12 separate sessions within 2/3 different categories. The categories I chose were portrait photography and fine art photography. First, I did three images for some friends; the rest were my fine art work. My models went above and beyond helping me create these photos, and I loved doing every single session.

Each photo I had taken for my portfolio was generally inspired by a movie, tv show, or game I have seen or played before. Some are more obvious than others, like the Avatar photo I created of my friend Ashlyn, inspired by the Avatar movies that have come out recently. So while the Steampunk photo doesn’t have one specific thing, it inspired multiple pop culture pieces.

Here are the final photos of my portfolio assignment; the portraits will have the model’s names, and the fine art images will have their titles.

If you want to see more of my work, look at my Instagram at the link below, and if you are interested in doing a session with me, go to the contract part of my website, and we will make a plan!
