What is Fine Art Photograhy?

Art can be defined in many ways by numerous people; like all things, perspective plays a significant role. It can mean different things to people, and some may think that art has to be shown to the world to be considered art, while others may think that something like photography doesn’t count as art.

I believe that if you create something with intent and are inspired to try something new and show it to at least one person, then it is art.

Fine art photography can cover a wide range of photographs, from landscapes to portrait work to images that make you look at it for hours, just trying to see all the details in the photo.

I have recently found a love for fine art photography. Before, I didn’t know a lot about it, and I thought I couldn't do work like that. Then, one of my instructors at NAIT started teaching us about it, and I realized that fine art photography is fantastic. It can come in many forms, colours, sizes, and perspectives, making it unique. Since I am a big nerd and want to incorporate some fantasy and cosplay photos into my work, fine art is the way to do it. I am mainly doing portrait styles of fine art photography, but I am planning to experiment a lot over the next few months. Photography has always been a passion of mine, and I love the idea of taking photos of someone in a complete cosplay outfit or the middle of the woods pretending to be an elf. Random things like that keep inspiring me to try even more fine art photography.

I plan on doing many more fine art shoots soon, but here are a few I have done already.
