Saskatoon’s Berry Barn

In Saskatoon, there is a lovely place called the Berry Barn, just a little out of town. I like driving out there and walking around the area; it’s beautiful there. In the Berry Barn, there is a restaurant, a gift shop and a small bakery, and they sell fresh jam made from all the berries there!

But it’s not just the food that makes me want to go there. As a photographer, I sometimes need an inspirational boost to get my creativity going. I like going down there because it makes me feel like I’m in another world, and as I want to do fine art and more fantasy-styled shoots, it’s the perfect place to go. With the South Saskatchewan River just a minute’s walk away from the main buildings, paths, and fantastic food, it’s a great place to go.

I haven’t done any sessions there, but I have done a fun session, just done the river with my good friends Adam and Ariana. This was one couples session I will not forget anytime soon, between all the smiles, jokes, and funny reactions to the smoke bombs. We shot these in the fall, so imagine how pretty it is during spring and summer.

Being a portrait photographer in Saskatoon has its perks, especially when I have amazing photogenic models like these two!
